The CUDA runtime makes it possible to compile and link your CUDA kernels into executable. This means that you don't have to distribute Cubin files with your application, or deal with loading them through the driver API. As you have noted, it is generally easier to use.

CUDA Runtime API v6.0 | 3 Chapter 2. STREAM SYNCHRONIZATION BEHAVIOR NULL stream The NULL stream or stream 0 is an implicit stream which synchronizes with all other streams in the same CUcontext except for non-blocking streams, described below. (For applications using the runtime APIs only, there will be one context per device.)
Mar 28, 2015 · Ocelot supports CUDA applications and provides animplementation of the CUDA Runtime API enabling seamless integration. NVIDIA’s PTX virtualinstruction set architecture is used as adevice-agnostic program representation that captures the data-parallel SIMT execution model ofCUDA applications.
Vector Addition in CUDA (CUDA C/C++ program for Vector Addition) Posted by Unknown at 05:40 | 15 comments We will contrive a simple example to illustrate threads and how we use them to code with CUDA C. Imagine having two lists of numbers where we want to sum corresponding elements of each list and store the result in a third list.
